Household consumption in the Netherlands rose 0.8% year-on-year in November 2024, matching the revised figure from October. The reading remained at its softest growth in four periods, as consumption for services increased at a slower pace (0.6% vs 0.9% in October). Within services, households spent more on transport, communication, and recreation and cultural services. Meanwhile, spending on household goods rose faster (1% vs. 0.7%), with an accelerated increase in durable consumer goods (2.3% vs. 1.3%) offsetting the slowdown in other goods (1.5% vs. 2.1%), and a further decline in spending on food, beverages, and tobacco (-0.9% vs. -0.8%).
