The annual inflation rate in Tunisia stood at 6.7% in September 2024, unchanged from the previous month, which was the lowest figure since January 2022. Housing inflation remained steady at 4.2%, while prices moderated for clothing (9.7% vs. 9.9%) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (0.3% vs. 5.4%). Meanwhile, prices accelerated for transportation (3.4% vs. 3.2%), health (8.8% vs. 8.4%), restaurants & hotels (8.8% vs. 8.7%), and recreation & culture (7.0% vs. 5.8%). Additionally, food & non-alcoholic beverage prices increased more rapidly, after rising at the slowest pace in 27 months in August (9.2% vs. 8.5% in August). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.8%, the highest increase in five months, following August’s six-month low of 0.3%.
